Andrew Browne Quality Manager and Clinical Embryologist at Genus Ferility

Andrew Browne

MSci, PhD
Quality Manager and Clinical Embryologist

Andrew is a Clinical Scientist with a diverse professional background spanning academia, industry, and the NHS. He holds an MSci in Anatomy from the University of Glasgow where a work placement within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde put him on the path to a career in clinical embryology.

After his degree, he went on to support the establishment of a private fertility clinic in Dublin, helping patients access fertility diagnostics, treatment, and coordinating care for those undergoing IVF abroad. The responsibilities of this demanding role strengthened his ability to manage complex care pathways and shaped the compassionate, patient-focused approach he brings to his current position.

“Here at Genus, we recognise the importance of an individualised approach in all aspects of our patient care. We take the time to listen, understand your needs, and offer expert guidance and support when you need it most.”

A brief change in direction took him to Germany, where he embarked upon a PhD in Biomedicine at the Technical University of Dresden.

Andrew researched molecular cell biology of breast cancer and bone metastasis, contributed to internationally published research and received several prestigious awards for his innovations along the way.

Following the successful completion of his PhD, Andrew worked as a Medical Writer within a leading contract research organisation in Germany. There, he gained experience in international regulatory affairs across the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and developed a strong foundation in quality management.

He later returned to Glasgow to complete his embryology training via the STP equivalence route, attaining HCPC registration in 2022.

He continued to enhance his clinical skill set in a fertility clinic in Belfast before joining the team at Genus Medical Fertility, where he now works as both Quality Manager and Clinical Embryologist.

Currently sitting on the Association of Reproductive and Clinical Scientists’ Continued Professional Development committee, he supports members in maintaining high standards in their clinical practice at a national level. Andrew brings together scientific expertise, clinical experience, and a genuine commitment to patient care. He takes pride in creating a supportive, high-quality service and approaches his work with empathy, attention to detail, and a continuous drive to improve patient outcomes.
